Jalan Dhoby

By 1900, as the city of Johor Bahru was rapidly developing, numerous business centers and shops, including laundry shops (dhoby), were opened and operated. The laundry business experienced growth due to high demand from the city's residents. However, over time, this business gradually declined due to increasing competition from stores. The concentration of laundry shops between the intersections of Jalan Trus led to the name 'Jalan Dhoby' for this area.
