Johor Darul Takzim Football Club (JDT), also known as the Southern Tigers, has a rich history that reflects its rise to prominence in Malaysian football. Let’s take a look at the journey of this remarkable club. JDT was originally founded in 1972 as PKENJ FC. The club underwent several transformations over the years, including a significant rebranding in 1996 when it became Johor FC1. This period marked the beginning of the club’s journey towards becoming a powerhouse in Malaysian football.
The real turning point for JDT came in 2013 when the club was rebranded as Johor Darul Takzim FC. This change was spearheaded by Tunku Ismail Idris, the Crown Prince of Johor, who took over the club’s management. His vision and leadership were instrumental in transforming JDT into a professional and competitive team.
